Welcome to a unique health care system that will allow you to dramatically cut costs for your medical care. If you familiar with a computer then I have a solution to your dilemma and that is the Virtual Medical Office.

The majority of medical decisions that physicians make with their patients, whether pediatric or adult, are actually directed by the history taking portion of the visit. The physical exam may provide confirmation, offer no additional information, but rarely changes what is already suspected. Because of this it is possible to provide a significant portion of medical care online via websites that are developed for this purpose. These web visits are a fraction of the cost of an office visit and have scripted templates for many different types of medical complaints. We use a website by the name of RelayHealth that is HIPAA compliant and has been in service for many years.

To participate in this program you need to have been seen in the office at least once. Existing patients may start to participate in this program immediately and new patients need to come in for an initial visit. If after a web visit I believe the patient needs to be seen in the office for some reason they will be able to look at the menu of services to see what the cost will be. Reasons for in office visit may include, a blood pressure check, a rapid strep, a quick peek in the ears or an EKG. Since these are targeted services they will be much less than an office visit. We will also be able to offer very reduced cost lab tests at local labs. Pediatric patients will still be able to access the vaccines for children program if they participate in the online service. There are some services that will require in office visits and these include well child visits and yearly gynecological visits. Patients participating in the online program will receive discounted prices for these services. We will issue "insurance cards" for all participants so they can receive these discounted services. We will also attempt to use generic drugs whenever possible.
